End of July

Despite my best intentions, summer has flown by already and I feel I have so much more I need to do in the month I have left.
My sister, Brittany, has been engaged since September. We are so excited for her and Brandon (her fiancee), but along with that excitement comes the stress of planning a wedding. We have decided to forgo a wedding planner, since the chosen venue takes care of the florist, food, band, etc. after we give them the names. So yes, we don't have to make sure everyone has there stuff together the day of and ensure that everyone is running on schedule; however, we do have lots of things that are still our responsibility.
And by "we" and "our", I mean the entire Odom clan. Momason, Padre, Brittany, Brooke, and I have been working together to decide the food, music, linens, flower arrangements, bridesmaid dresses, etc. Let me tell you, planning a wedding is a lot of work. Who knew there were so many little details that could make or break a wedding? We spent three weeks after deciding the food whether to do buffet, stations, or seated dinner. What would the guests do during introductions?--Because sitting there while the bridal party walks in can get boring and occasionally awkward depending on the seating plan and how smoothly transitions go.
Anywho, It has been pretty fun to help out with all the planning. Brooke and I are both maids of honor. Brooke is main coordinator of the bachelorette party, and I am in charge of the bridal shower.

I'll get into the details on both later, but for now I want to give a run-down of the rest of my summer.

Over Father's Day weekend, the Odoms all went to DC for Padre's work conference. While there, we went out to eat at Central, Michael Richard and I ate the most delicious lobster burger I have ever tasted in my life. (granted, I've never had a lobster burger before, but it surpassed all expectations and comparisons to crab cakes :)  )  and the french onion soup was the best I've ever had. And I have tried many of those.

Besides the DC trip, I have also been back and forth from the beach all summer...AND...I now have a job! I am a CNA (Nursing Assistant/Aide) at Rex hospital :)
I am very excited to finally have a job, and I really enjoy it! My coworkers are so nice and helpful, plus there are a few funny ones in the bunch that help make the 12 hour shift go faster.

That's the recap of my summer. Stay tuned for more information about the wedding, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and painting a cooler!
