Christmas time is one of my absolute favorites of the year. I love decorating the house, putting up the Christmas tree, baking cookies and other treats, decorating a gingerbread house, and wrapping presents!
Normally every day in the winter I wear a sweater with a button down underneath. Unfortunately, this year has been way to warm and humid for that. The past week has been in the 70s! I'm hoping January and February will be chilly like normal, because I love sweaters.
There were a lot of late-night wrapping jobs
Yummy caramel corn for my roomies!
I got creative and made sugar cookies in the shape of pumpkin pie slices. These sugar cookies are no joke the absolute best! The recipe is just perfect, I don't know what else to say. The cookies always taste good, even if they are a little burnt!
Our front door wreath. Momason made it :)
Random, but this is my favorite wrapping paper this year! It's little polar bears :) who can resist their cuteness?
This is just one of the centerpieces for our kitchen table. We don't have specific things that we set out each year (this includes our mantle and tree too), so it's always a little different. One time we had large glass vases filled with peppermints and ribbon candy. This year's I believe is especially cute.
Anywho, this year both my sisters had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so we celebrated early. We had Odom-Family-Christmas (OFC) on Tuesday! We went to the Angus Barn (a popular steak restaurant/wedding venue in Raleigh) and sat in the bar with appetizers on OFC eve. This was Momason's idea, because they always go above and beyond with their declarations and overall atmosphere. They have younger kids dressed up as elves walking around and serving gingerbread men as people leave the restaurant, and a huge Christmas tree that the elves sit in (one year they had drunk elves yelling rude/funny comments at patrons...but they are no longer asked to come back :( now it's much more tame).
We had the entire family there, including Hershey (Brooke's boyfriend) but minus Brandy-Boy (Brittany's fiancé--I'll blog about that later!). He works in Nashville at the moment and flew in Wednesday evening. We were at the Angus Barn for a very long time; we got home at 11! We then opened up our Christmas pajamas and watched Four Christmases :)
The next day Popalops cooked breakfast--sausage,bacon, biscuits--then we started cooking (my holiday was a food-fest...going to need to detox all of January). We had Lunch/Dinner with my Papa and his girlfriend, Sue. This was the first time the family had met her, and she is very cute and reminds me a lot of my Grandma. She passed away about eight years ago from breast caner, and after a long time of grieving Papa is tired of being lonely. (I am trying to make this not sound sad. The family is tickled pink that he's dating now!)
Once we had eaten and Papa and Sue had gone home, we opened our presents!!!!! (we normally do this in the morning as soon as we wake up...but we tried something different this time. I think we're going to keep opening presents in the evening from now on. It makes it last much longer!
We all wore Christmas sweaters on OFC day :)

That is Hershey...and that's me...probably reading...I was trying to finish a book. (I'm a big reader, and during my first semester I was a little deprived, so this holiday I went on a reading-spree.)

Yes, this picture is from my sister's snap story....I'm going to start taking better-quality pictures in the future. I promise. Then there will be no more embarrassing selfies and snapchat photos...
There's the bride-to-be and her pile of presents.
Hershey and his stash.
This picture features my new MACARON SCARF from Talbots!! I'm in loooooove with it.
Sooooo, that was my Christmas! Or at least the major events.
And, as a closing: Charlie!
I don't know what he was thinking when I took these photos.
